The Ministry of Public Finance is the most important Government institution for the activity of the economic, financial and fiscal structures in Romania. It operates based on Law No.72/July 17, 1996, regarding Public Finance, and on Government Decision No. 864/1998 modifying and supplementing the Government Decision No.12/2001 regarding the organization and operation of the Ministry of Finance, implementing the Government Program and strategy for Public Finances.
